Cathedrals by Tenth Avenue North

Tenth Avenue North

Tenth Avenue North

Tenth Avenue North has just released their new album Cathedrals.  Why Cathedrals, you ask?  We are Cathedrals of God…a safe place for others. We are image bearers of Christ. This collection of songs is a direct representation of what it means to be and create a loving, Christian community.

It’s all part of what God’s been teaching me in 2014.  We need to stop worrying about what each one of us is doing and start genuinely loving one another because of who we are, children of God.  It’s what Ann Marie Miller talks about in her book, Lean On Me.  That we need a good community around us.  We need good relationships that are authentic and genuine.  (click HERE for my review).

I listen to Air1.com.  It’s an Internet Christian radio station.  I was blown away when I heard “No Man Is An Island”.  It wasn’t even released on the radio yet.  It’s a great reminder that we aren’t doing life alone.  That we are supposed to be giving each other a hand up.  Just like the lyrics say, “We’re not meant to live this life alone.”  Watch the video…

I won’t run, I will stay
I’m not leaving you
I know there’s friction here
The struggle makes us new
I wish you never thought you had to go
Wish you never thought you had to leave
Together we can lift each other up
We can build a shelter for the weak
No man is an island, we can be found
No man is an island, let your guard down
You don’t have to fight me, I am for you
We’re not meant to live this life alone
I see fear in your eyes
There’s no safety here
Oh, my friend, let me in
I will share your tears
I wish you never thought you had to go
I wish you never thought you had to leave
We can always lift each other up
We can build a shelter for the weak, come on
No man is an island, we can be found
No man is an island, let your guard down
Please don’t try to fight me, I am for you
We’re not meant to live this life alone
Through trouble, rain, or fire
Let’s reach out to something higher
Ain’t no life outside each other
We are not alone
Through trouble, rain, or fire
Let’s reach out to something higher
Eyes open to one another
We are not alone
No man is alone
Why you try to fight me
We don’t have to do it alone
We don’t have to do it alone
We don’t have to do it alone

Amazing, huh?  Whether you’re a Christian or not, this really should speak to you.  You are not living this life alone.  We’re all doing life together.

The beautiful harmonies of Tenth Avenue North with Audrey Assad in Jesu, Dulcis Memoria send chills up your spine and are reminiscent of Latin monks and days gone by.

Tenth Avenue North

Tenth Avenue North, named after a West Palm Beach street, is a group of guys who love the Lord.  They play really great Christian rock music. Their songs speak to your heart.  Songs that are the very life-blood of your soul.

One last song, “Stars In The Night”.  Will you listen to it?

No matter where you lead, we want to follow You
Trouble is we forget who we belong to
We chase the wind and tides
We chase the reasons why
Chase the spark inside each other’s eyes
Desires are a war, we want that final shore
Sailing on until we find what we’ve been looking for

I highly recommend this album.  It’s a purchase you will not be disappointed with.  Each song will touch you in some way.  Some lyric will speak to you.  I guarantee it!
