Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award
I’m really have a great time doing the the #AnythingGoes Link Party, because I’ve been connecting with tons of other bloggers. It’s great to see what other bloggers are passionate about and to learn about their lives.
I was surprised to wake to an email from my #AnythingGoes partner, Sue at Sizzling Towards Sixty. She’s the one who’s nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers award.
It’s great to be able to share a little bit about myself with those who have shared so much about themselves with me. Because I’m a review blogger, I don’t often share person information. Although, sometimes when I do share, I can share TOO much information. 😉 So, here goes nothing!
Sue has ten questions for me that I’m answering for you. Perhaps this will give you a new insight to who Sandy at Sandy’s P.O.V. really is.
Questions From Sue to Me
1. Are you a morning person?
I am most definitely a morning person. I would rather get up and get into the office early, so that I can get my work done while it’s still quiet. I am more focused in the morning. By the end of the day, my concentration is shot and I really just want to veg.
2. Which do you prefer: the mountains or the sea?
I am an Atlantic Ocean girl. I live near the Gulf of Mexico, but that’s like swimming in bath water most of the year. I love the sound of the waves on the rocks. There’s just something so peaceful about it.
3. What is your most read blog post?
My post Cool Mist Humidifier – Diffuser Giveaway was my biggest post. It was a great giveaway, too. Funny, because I was emailing with Amy, who won the giveaway, and the company had not sent her the diffuser more than a month after I sent them her name. She and I have been working together to make things right. It was just resolved this week and Amy should have her diffuser soon.
4. Who is your blogger role-model? One that you aspire to be like.
My blogger role models are four other ladies with whom together make our little blogging group. We’ve shared personal trials and tribulations as well as good stuff too. Karen, from The Missing Niche, helped take my blog to a more professional look and we walked her through her first book, which just won an Indie publishing award. Kim, from Living with Juvenile Arthritis, came to me for information in starting a blog and then she went to town. She’s been featured on the radio and on videos for her expertise and she’s written a book. Herchel, from Gym, Craft, Laundry, has also seen her blog just explode. She’s starting to make really cool things which she’s selling on Etsy. And, last, but not least, Ashley from Momma on a Mission and Ashley Mikula Photography. She took the step to become a professional (getting paid) photographer as well as blog. Her pictures are beautiful and she’s not only photographing kids, but their sexy mamas, too.
5. Which city or country would you like to visit?
My dream trip would be to visit Ireland. All my life I thought we were Irish, but it turns out that we’re Scottish. I still want to see Ireland and see all of the green and beautiful country.
6. What is your favorite motivational quote?
Thanks to my mom for this one, “Life’s not fair. Get over it!”
7. When you are not blogging you are…
When I’m not blogging, and I’m almost always blogging when I’m not at work, I’m reading. I love reading fiction. My favorite authors are Nora Roberts and her alternate personality J.D. Robb and Debbie Macomber.
8. What is your favorite social media platform?
Every time a new social media platform pops up, I sign up for it just so I can grab up my name in the URL. I love Facebook most of all, because that’s where I keep up with friends and family. Another favorite is Google+, but I don’t have time to keep up with those folks as much. I’ve met some awesome people there. Connect with me on social media. I have my links below or they’re on my sidebar at the top.
9. Apple or Android?
Android. ‘Nuf said.
10. What is the most important tip about blogging you have learned?
I really try to follow my SEO plug-in so that I’m making good content that’s going to be valid in the searches. Grammar, spell-check, font, layout…they all matter. Don’t kid yourself in thinking that they don’t. I do miss stuff sometimes. I will click off of a blog with too many errors, because it just drives me nuts.
