I had the opportunity to try Marco’s Pizza’s new spinach pizzas. This was a great opportunity because I have never had Marco’s Pizza (http://bit.ly/FreshSpn) before. I received a coupon for a cheese pizza with spinach and a grilled chicken Florentine pizza. My husband and I went to the Marco’s Pizza location on McMullen Booth Rd. in Clearwater. Marco’s Pizza is located in 33 states and in the Bahamas.
After explaining to the staff why I was there, they took my order and offered to add a flavored crust to each pizza. I had the garlic butter crust with the cheese and spinach pizza and the Roma crust on the grilled chicken Florentine pizza.
I tried the cheese pizza with spinach first. That’s exactly what it was – a medium cheese pizza with spinach added on. The sauce had a nice flavor. In my opinion, this pizza could have had a lot more spinach because I really like spinach. It was more like 3 pieces of spinach on each slice. For $1.50 per topping, I don’t think that adding more spinach would be out of line. While I enjoyed this pizza, it was my husband’s favorite.
I tried a slice of the grilled chicken Florentine pizza next. This was a white pizza with tender and juicy chicken, spinach, red onion, tomatoes, and feta cheese. The flavors of the pizza were a great combination. I did notice that our pizza had white onions on it and the descriptions and pictures all have red onions (which I prefer). This was a great pizza and my favorite. I enjoyed the flavor of the Roma crust as well.
We had two medium pizzas. Each pizza was cut into 8 pieces. We had 3 pieces of pizza each and we were more than filled. We took home a what came to a whole pizza plus two pieces. It was enough for us to each have two more meals. And speaking of two more meals, the pizza heats up nicely in the microwave after having been refrigerated over night.
I would definitely return to Marco’s Pizza when I was craving a good pie and since it’s only right down the street, it’s a convenient drive for a sit down meal that won’t break the bank and the staff were so polite and helpful.
