Konjac Facial Sponge

I have previously reviewed konjac facial sponges, Washing your Face with Food, and I wanted to see if I might have a different experience with another product, so I agreed to review the Konjac Facial Sponge with Bamboo Charcoal.

The Konjac Facial Sponge is made from plant fibers and is infused with bamboo charcoal to help draw out impurities and to help to gently exfoliate the skin.  This wonder-plant is native to Asia and has been used in Chinese medicine for years due to its ability to detoxify the skin.

This particular konjac sponge is pretty small.  It’s about the same size as a golf ball.  I found it to be difficult to hold onto while I was trying to wash my face because it is so small.  And once, konjac is wet, it’s slippery.  When I dropped mine, it bounced across the counter.  It comes with a thread for easy hanging to dry after use.

I personally don’t find this konjac facial sponge to be exfoliating.  It’s more smooth and soft.  I use rough washcloths to exfoliate my face and have good luck with them.  It’s soft enough to use on a child’s skin and probably fun for them to play with in the tub.

This konjac sponge comes with a 100% money back and 100% satisfaction guarantee.  It can be composted, is biodegradable, and free of both toxins and pollutants.  It has to be replaced periodically because it is exposed to the oils and dirt from your skin.

Personally, I don’t think the konjac sponge is going to be my go-to facial cleansing item, not because it’s a bad product, because it’s not.  I simply find this one way too small for me to comfortably get a grip on and not exfoliating enough for my taste.
