Friday Review Mash Up #13

Happy Friday Friends!  It’s time for another Friday Review Mash Up.  Today’s reviews are all over the place and there’s no theme to them.  Check out the link to a giveaway in the last review.

Bamboo Salad Bowl w/ Serving Hands

We haven’t had a salad bowl in a few years and this gorgeous, square bamboo salad bowl and serving forks is a welcome addition to our dinner table. It holds a generous amount of salad. I have two bags of individual serving salad in the bowl in the pictures. The bowl and forks are easy to clean with soap and water. Know that you should not submerge the bowl and forks, otherwise the bamboo will expand and crack. The set is a great neutral bamboo color to go with any table setting, whether casual or formal. I’m really pleased with this set. Buy one for someone as a gift and get one for yourself.

Feelily 72 Canvas Pencil Holder

I’ve been keeping my colored pencils in a large jar, which makes it difficult to see what colors I have and various shades of similar colors. With the Feelily pencil holder, I can keep my pencils in color order, which allows my pencil tips to be protected and I now have all the pencils at hand without them rolling all over the table. There’s room for erasers and a pencil sharpener as well. When the case is rolled up, it’s secured with a snap closure and it doesn’t take up too much room. My pencils are now a lot easier to carry around. The case has a slight odor, but it’s not a deal-breaker. The case holds 72 pencils and extras. I’m really happy with my new pencil case.

Ice Cream Scoop by SUMO

This is a heavy duty ice cream scoop, not some whimpy store-bought scoop. There is some heft in this scoop; you feel it in your hand. I like that it’s not a flat ice cream paddle nor it is a rounded scoop in the traditional sense. It’s something in between. The tip of the scoop has got a more pointed edge so that it can cut into the ice cream, whether hard or soft. The handle is covered with BPH-free thermoplastic elastomer rubber, so that your hands won’t get chilled while trying to get your ice cream. Highly recommended.

Passion: Salvation’s Tide Is Rising

I’ve always been impressed with the music that’s come out of the Passion Movement and their latest CD “Salvation’s Tide is Rising” doesn’t disappoint. There are 10 tracks from Passion musicians Kristian Stanfill, Christy Nockels, Chris Tomlin, and Matt Redman, Crowder, Brett Younker, Jimi Cravity, and Melodie Malone.

Here’s the Track List:

1. Salvation’s Tide is Rising – Passion featuring Kristian Stanfill
2. My Victory – Passion featuring Crowder
3. Remember – Passion featuring Brett Younker & Melodie Malone
4. God & God Alone – Passion featuring Chris Tomlin
5. Simple Pursuit – Passion featuring Melodie Malone
6. I Turn to Christ – Passion featuring Matt Redman
7. Your Grace Amazes Me – Passion featuring Christy Nockels
8. All We Sinners – Passion featuring Crowder
9. Surrender – Passion featuring Jimi Cravity
10. Good Good Father – Passion featuring Kristian Stanfill

A noticeable missing feature of the Salvation’s Tide is Rising album is the worshipers attending the Passion gathering in Atlanta. Part of the past Passion music that adds to the character and corporate worship sound of the songs. The past songs from the Passion Movement that have blown up my radio have had that awesome feeling of the collaboration of musician and worshiper that sends chills through my soul. I have to say, I really miss that.

But, that said, this is another amazing contribution from the Passion Movement. The first nine songs are wonderful praise and worship songs. But, the one that I love the most is number ten, Good, Good Father. I’m hearing it hourly on my favorite Christian radio stations. The chorus is the kind of phrase that sticks in your head reminding you exactly who God is and what his promise to you is.

You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, it’s who you are, it’s who you are
And I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, it’s who I am, it’s who I am

I find myself singing this song to myself pretty much daily. This is good stuff to remember. Needless to say, I highly recommend the latest installment in the Passion Movement CD catalog – “Salvation’s Tide is Rising”.

  1. You must be reading my mind. My ice cream scoop is going kaput (it’s the kind that melts the ice cream as you scoop, but the finish is wearing off and not melting through the hard stuff so well)., and I’ve been thinking about how I need a new one because I have one of those round ones also and I absolutely hate the thing. I would rather dig the ice cream out with my fingers and shovel it into my mouth. Thanks for sharing, Sandy!!

  2. I love the pencil wrap! That salad bowl is great too – I really want to get a nice new one, even if my other half steadfastly refuses to eat any salad. I’m sure he’ll give in eventually. 😉 #overthemoon

    1. My son flat out refuses to eat vegetables. I try to sneak them in, but he’s already 21, so I’m thinking he might be a lost cause. I sure hope not because all he ate were veggies when he was little.
