I was excited to be chosen by Influenster for my first Vox Box. I received my Uni VoxBox and was excited to see what was inside. I had been given a couple of questionnaires, but I wasn’t sure what I’d receive. By blogging, tweeting, Instagraming, and posting videos, I earn badges that make it easier for me to do future product testing.
So, I set out to open my box via video and post the video to YouTube. Here’s my first attempt to post a very brief vlog while opening my VoxBox.
I had the opportunity to try Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. Because I have melasma (dark spotting on my face), it’s very difficult to find something to even my skin tone out. Well, hallelujah! There’s finally a foundation that gives me full coverage. I honestly can’t find something bad to say about Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation. This is the foundation that I’ve been looking for for years.
The Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation that I have is in Sand. It comes in 8 shades. It doesn’t appear to come in many shades that would work for women of color. The best part about Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is that it costs about $6. Completely affordable.
I’m so pleased that there’s a foundation out there that will smooth out my skin tone and make me feel less conscious of my spotty skin. I would say that my face has finally met its match…literally.
Red Rose Real Tea
I tried Red Rose Real Tea Water Enhancer in Black Current Raspberry flavor. It tasted like raspberry tea. I have to say that I don’t drink iced tea at all. While this tasted pretty good, I prefer my water plain and I don’t care for iced tea.
NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color
I got this great NYC New York Color Expert Last Lip Color in Forever Fuchsia. This is a fabulous color for me. It’s a very bright color that really stands out among the crowds of boring lip color. It’s like having a party on your lips. You can see what it looks like in the “after” picture of me above.
My Pilot Acroball Pure White Retractable Hybrid Gel Ball Point Pen writes smoothly and matches my outfits. They come in both fine and medium points as well as blue and black ink. For the more adventurous, pens can be purchased in purple, pink, turquoise, orange and green inks as well. So, not only can you look fashionable, you can write (or doodle) fashionably too!
I received a pack of Broadway Nails Impress Press-On Manicure. I tend to keep my nails pretty short because my own nails are thin and break easily. The container is adorable and opens when you twist off the top and pop apart the box.
Included in the nail package is a prep pad that smells like it’s isopropol alcohol to clean your nails with. Once you lay out all of the nails for both hands, attaching them to you own nails is very easy and requires only some pressure to attach. This pattern is definitely not my style, but I might be inclined to try another less busy style. They feel like real nails. They are detached with nail polish remover. These are definitely an easy way to dress up your nails.
I received Playtex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons. I was unable to actually test these because I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago. I plan on giving them to someone who can use them.
